WOOD PRODUCT MAINTENANCE

At least twice a year it is time for a thorough cleaning and then applying a care and protection coat with the right product to protect wood from dirt and external influences. This is a guideline. With more or less use, 4x or 1x per year may suffice. Always pay attention to the contact areas that are most in use and need more attention.
_ If you bought a product that comes with the care products and/or care advice, always follow this advice.
_ In the case of a well-known brand product, consult the manufacturer's website for the latest maintenance product recommendation for your purchased wooden product. 
– In other instances, you will find below, per wood protection layer, which maintenance products are advised and which are readily available commercially. Follow the maintenance schedule as described with the purchased maintenance product.

• Untreated look, optimally protected – For untreated (or stained and then otherwise left untreated) types of wood where you want to retain this untreated look but still want to protect it, we advise:
  _ Rigo Skylt Original Ultramatte PU varnish, a polyurethane varnish consisting of 2 components; an A component and a B (hardener) component. It gives the surface an ultra-matt varnish and an untreated appearance. Can be applied to furniture made of untreated wood and concrete. A strong and solid lacquer that is ideal for intensive use with excellent protection against dirt and water. For an even stronger, wear-resistant and scratch-resistant finish, apply 2 coats of Rigo Skylt Original and as a final coat Rigo Skylt Titanium, which is less prone to gloss streaks. Care consists of cleaning at least twice a year with Rigostep Skylt Conditioner Spray & Wipe (refill with Rigo Skylt Conditioner Concentrate). After 10 to 15 years, you can protect the surface again, first sanding, then treating with Rigo Skylt Original and possibly as a final coat Rigo Skylt Titanium.
  _ Or clean with Natural Wood Cleaner by Oranje Furniture Care, a safe water-based intensive cleaner. Then immediately care for/protect with Natural Wood Sealer by Oranje Furniture Care. A water-based non-yellowing water-based polyurethane impregnating oil that protects all untreated or stained wood, virtually preserving the natural wood colour after treatment. Provides optimum protection against water, oil and grease. Cleaner and Sealer are available separately and as a set.
• Stain – Stains are intended to colour the wood, after which it is almost always finished with a clear varnish, furniture wax or an oil to protect the stained wood. It is then important, depending on the final protective finish, to use the correct maintenance product: untreated (stain only), wax, oil, wax-oil or varnish.
• Wax or oil – For furniture finished with coloured and colourless wax or oil, we advise:
  __ For a matt appearance of wooden furniture that is already naturel are oiled
  _ Clean with Natural Wood Cleaner by Oranje Furniture Care. Then immediately protect with Matt Polish by Orange Furniture Care. A care product especially suitable for all (ultra) matt varnished or naturally oiled woods. Freshens up the furniture without leaving a gloss layer. It also removes any shine (e.g. from skin grease). Cleaner and sealer are available separately and as a set.
  _ Or treat with Kerawood® set M from LCK for matt finished wood. An intensive cleaner and conditioning lotion to nourish, protect and revive the wood's natural fresh colour with matt appearance.
  __ To preserve natural matt/natural character already provided with a natural/natural matt wax layer or oil layer or a combination -Clean with Natural Wood Cleaner by Oranje Furniture Care. Then immediately protect with WaxOil by Oranje Furniture Care. A universal care product and consists of a combination of pure wax and natural oil. It cares for, and refreshes (and protects) wooden furniture that already has a natural/natural matt wax or oil layer or a combination thereof. Also ideal for furniture with a “weathered” or “stained” appearance, for example. WaxOil preserves the natural, matt/natural character of the wood and will not or hardly change the authentic look. Cleaner and Sealer are available separately and as a Set.
  __ For a natural look that accentuates the grain structure and refreshes and revives the natural colour
  _ Clean with Natural Wood Cleaner by Oranje Furniture Care. Then immediately protect with Greenfix by Orange Furniture Care. A vegetable-based linseed oil furniture oil that is suitable for all untreated types of wood such as oak, cherry, colonial (teak), beech, pine and spruce, as well as wood already treated with wax or oil as a maintenance product. Gives the furniture a natural, warm appearance, and accentuates the grain structure. Very suitable for preventing stains, heat and moisture rings. Improves wear resistance and removes light water marks. Greenfix is available as a colourless oil and in the colours white (whitewash), grey (light grey appearance), and black (which intensifies and preserves the black colour, and also offers extra protection against stains). Cleaner and Sealer are available separately and as a Set.
  _ Or treat with Kerawood® set O from LCK for all oiled and waxed wooden furniture. An intensive cleaner and conditioning lotion to nourish and protect the wood.
  __ Antique Style – Antique Wax by Orange Furniture Care. A traditionally made antique wax based on natural raw materials, such as carnauba, candellilla, raw beeswax and turpentine oil. Suitable for treating unpainted wooden furniture, or furniture already treated with wax or oil. First clean oil or dirty wax layers with the Naturel Wood Cleaner intensive wood cleaner.
• Lacquer – There are coloured and colourless varnishes with different finishes: ultra matt, matt, semi-matt, satin, gloss or high gloss. The composition of the ingredients also varies for all varnishes. For the different types of varnish, we recommend:
  __ Ultra-matt / matt / semi-matt – Cleanse with Natural Wood Cleaner by Oranje Furniture Care. Then immediately protect with Matt Polish by Orange Furniture Care, a care product especially suitable for all (ultra) matt varnished or naturally oiled woods. Freshens up the furniture without leaving a gloss layer. It also removes any shine (e.g. from skin grease). Cleaner and sealer are available separately and as a set.
  __ Matt Treat with Kerawood® set M from LCK for matt finished wood. An intensive cleaner and conditioning lotion to nourish, protect, and revive the wood's natural fresh colour with matt appearance.
  __ Silk gloss – Cleanse with Natural Wood Cleaner by Oranje Furniture Care. Then immediately protect with Elite Polish by Oranje Furniture Care, suitable for all silk/gloss/high-gloss lacquered furniture, both modern and classic. With this milky maintenance polish, the furniture is optimally maintained, refreshed and nourished. It leaves a beautiful deep silk lustre on the varnish layer of the furniture. Elite Polish also has a light polishing effect on the varnish layer of the wood. This slightly levels the lacquer layer and camouflages small scratches and damages. Cleaner and Sealer are available separately and as a Set.

  __ Varnished with visible wood grain – Clean with Natural Wood Cleaner by Oranje Furniture Care. Then immediately protect with Classic Oil by Orange Furniture Care, suitable for all glossy lacquered woods (semi-gloss/silk/gloss) where the wood grain is still visible. Freshens up the varnish, camouflages small superficial scratches and leaves a beautiful gloss layer on the furniture. Classic Oil is available in the colours red (classic), brown and clear (colourless). Cleaner and Sealer are available separately and as a Set.
  __ High-gloss, foil or melamine/laminate
  _ Clean with Natural Wood Cleaner by Oranje Furniture Care. Then immediately protect with Shine & Fix from Oranje Furniture Care, a high-quality colourless polish for furniture and kitchens finished with a high-gloss varnish layer, foil layer or melamine/laminate top coat. It cares for, protects and camouflages slight signs of use and imperfections in the high-gloss varnish layer. It restores dull varnish layers to their original high-gloss effect without leaving stripes. Cleaner and Sealer are available separately and as a Set.
  _ Clean with the cleaning glove from LCK, then immediately treat with Kerapur® polish for high-gloss lacquer surfaces from LCK. For maintaining high-gloss, scratch-sensitive lacquer surfaces in kitchens and living rooms. Polishes and optimally protects the surface against daily soiling such as fingerprints and dust. After use, the surface is noticeably smoother and more resistant to scratches and stronger, for optimum long-term protection and radiant shine.

  __ Ultra-matt 2-component PU varnish – Care involves cleaning at least twice a year with Rigostep Skylt Conditioner Spray & Wipe (refill with Rigo Skylt Conditioner Concentrate). With a different brand of 2-component PU lacquer, you can check whether a different cleaning agent is available. After 10 to 15 years, you can protect the surface again with Rigo Skylt Original and possibly as a final layer Rigo Skylt Titanium. Or another brand of 2-component PU lacquer.
