MAINTENANCE OF POROUS MINERAL PRODUCTS
Avoid scratches
Don't just put hard objects on the table. Use placemets and coasters made of compact, and as best natural materials such as cork or felt. Also consider home accessories, under decoration always stick felt before putting them on the table.
Avoid circles
Do not place wet objects on the table, such as wet glasses, carafes, vases or bottles, as moisture containing lime or dirt will soak into the material. Pay particular attention to plant pots; use hard materials that cannot allow moisture to pass through, with protection underneath made of, for example, cork or felt. And regularly check to see if a ring has formed nonetheless.
Prevent dent or breakage damage
Porous mineral materials can get dents, dings and even breaks when used improperly. Therefore, be careful.
Prevent heat damage
Do not place hot pans, grill or fondue plates on the table top. Provide scratch-free and heat-resistant protection, e.g. compact cork or felt.
Beware of agents that give off colour
Colourants can easily migrate into porous mineral materials. Be careful with colourful agents, such as coffee and tea, and carbonated drinks like cola, wine, vinegar, lemon (juice), orange (juice) and curry. Also, for example, some rubber stoppers on items used regularly which can eventually discolour. Therefore, it is better to use coasters.
Always follow the manufacturer's maintenance instructions, if available
WEEKLY CLEANING:
- Weekly dusting with a dry soft lint-free cloth.
- Furniture made of porous mineral material may be cleaned with a lightly damp, well-wrung-out cotton cloth soaked in a lukewarm soapy solution of a pH-neutral, non-abrasive degreasing cleaning agent. Afterwards, wipe down with a damp cloth with water only, then dry with a clean, soft, lint-free cotton cloth.
- Furniture polishes containing silicones can cause problems in the form of stains that are difficult to polish away.
- Do not use products with too high a pH (such as vinegar or lemon) and do not use baking soda.
- Never use aggressive or abrasive products.
- Do not scrub surfaces because of scratches.

As preventive maintenance agent we recommend LCK impregnating agent for natural stone, part of the LCK® complete care set for natural stone, with LCK impregnator for stone, two LCK cleaning sponges, a soft sponge, and a cloth. A complete maintenance set to keep your stone porous, polished and polished surfaces such as marble, granite and slate in top condition. The impregnator will make the natural structure visible again and makes it less easy for dirt to penetrate.
