MAINTENANCE OF HARDENED MINERAL PRODUCTS

Avoid scratches
Even toughened mineral materials can get scratched. Do not place hard objects directly on the table. Use placemats and coasters made from compact, and ideally natural, materials like cork or felt. Also, consider your decorative accessories by attaching felt pads to them before placing them on the table.

Avoid circles
Do not leave wet objects on the table for extended periods, such as wet glasses, carafes, vases or bottles. With time, moisture containing lime or dirt can penetrate even hardened mineral materials. Consider plant pots especially; use hard materials that do not allow moisture to pass through, with protection underneath made of e.g. cork or felt. And check regularly to ensure a ring is not forming.

Prevent dent or breakage damage
Hardened mineral materials can also get dents, dings and even breaks when used improperly. Therefore, be careful.

Prevent heat damage
Do not place hot pans, grill or fondue plates on the table top. Provide scratch-free and heat-resistant protection, e.g. compact cork or felt.

Beware of materials that give off colour
Some dyes are so aggressive that they migrate even into hardened mineral material after a long time. Like, for example, some rubber caps. Therefore, prefer to use felts.

Always follow the manufacturer's maintenance instructions, if available

WEEKLY CLEANING:
  • Weekly dusting with a dry soft lint-free cloth.
  • Furniture made of mineral-hardened material may be cleaned with a slightly damp, wrung-out cotton cloth, soaked in a lukewarm soapy solution of a pH-neutral, degreasing, and non-abrasive cleaning agent. Afterwards, dry immediately with a clean, soft, lint-free cotton cloth.
  • Furniture polishes containing silicones can cause problems in the form of stains that are difficult to polish away.
  • Do not use products with too high a pH (such as vinegar or lemon) and do not use baking soda.
  • Never use aggressive or abrasive products.
  • Do not scrub surfaces because of scratches.
MAINTENANCE RECOMMENDATION PER HARDENED MINERAL PRODUCT:

SMOKE:
If a spill occurs, always clean up immediately
Use a damp cloth with ph-neutral detergent and dry with a dry cloth.

  • Ceramics
Many ceramics are resistant to very high and low temperatures and boast high impact, shock and scratch resistance. In addition, ceramic is very hygienic and easy to maintain. Ceramic is a 100 per cent natural product. This means that a ceramic tabletop can have colour differences, pigmentation spots, unevenness, dots on the tabletop or (depending on the incidence of light) streaks here and there. Ceramic tabletops can and do contain product- and material-specific properties.
Note: a ceramic top can break due to its own weight if not lifted properly. Always lift the top by the frame, ensure adequate support and never lift the top only at the corners. The long side should never sag when lifting.
Maintenance: To properly maintain ceramic surfaces, we recommend the Kerapur® complete care set for ceramics from LCK, with Kerapur® ceramic cleaner, two Kerapur® cleaning sponges and two wipes. A complete maintenance set for ceramic surfaces.
_ Use semi-annually or more frequently if used intensively, and follow instructions carefully.
_ Use the cleaner for regular cleaning and normal soiling and the sponges for heavy soiling and dried-in stains.
_ Always try maintenance products (general) on an inconspicuous area first.

  • Glass
When using glass tables, some basic rules should be kept in mind. Glass tables can be subjected to the same loads as tables made of other materials. But even more than other tables, a glass table cannot and should never be used as a seat or as a staircase or step. Nor is it a play table for children. Avoid extreme temperatures for objects placed on a glass table top. Cups of hot tea, etc., as well as glasses with ice-cold drinks can lead to spontaneous glass breakage. With porcelain earthenware and other scratchy objects, always use adequate coasters. Products of this kind (cups, ashtrays, glasses, etc.) must be lifted and must not be moved, otherwise this will irrevocably lead to scratching. In addition, moving or lifting the glass tables is at your own risk.
Maintenance: To properly maintain glass surfaces, we recommend the LCK® cleaning set for glass, with LCK glass polish, two LCK cleaning sponges and two wipes. A complete maintenance set for glass surfaces.
Use once per quarter or more frequently with intensive use, and follow the instructions carefully.
_ With the special cleaning sponges, you can easily remove most dirt. The glass polish restores a long-lasting fresh and clean appearance to your gloss.
_ Always try maintenance products (general) on an inconspicuous area first.

  • Metal
For cleaning all metal, a damp soft cloth, followed by drying with a dry cloth, is often sufficient. The effect of chemical and aggressive substances, acids, and salts can adversely affect the lifespan of a product. This includes aggressive cleaning agents in floor cleaners, or contamination from pets. In case of damage, it is best to contact a specialist. Is the soiling stubborn? Then observe the following points for different types of surfaces:
    _ Powder-coated metal
Sometimes suds are not enough, choose a neutral liquid, which does not scratch or damage materials. Cleaning agents for glass with a pH between 5 and 8 are quite suitable. Then rinse thoroughly with a clean cloth with plenty of water, and dry with a dry cloth.
    _ Painted steel
To clean painted steel, use only lukewarm water with ph-neutral soap, dry with dry cloth. This is because other means may damage the surface.
_ Chrome and brushed (matt) chrome
To maintain the shine of chrome, wipe the surface with a soft cloth and diluted spirit, without pressing. Then rub the chrome dry with a soft cloth. You can also wax chrome occasionally or apply acid-free Vaseline.
    _ Stainless steel
To clean stainless steel, it is best to use a special cleaning agent for stainless steel. Use the instructions accompanying the cleaning agent.
    _ Aluminium and brass
To clean aluminium or brass, it is best to use a damp chamois cloth. This best protects the surface from scratches. Anodised aluminium should be cleaned regularly with a neutral detergent. Afterwards, you can put the surface in clear (antique) wax or acid-free Vaseline, which will help extend its service life.
_ stainless steel, aluminium, copper and bronze
We recommend Inoxan® stainless steel cleaner from LCK for maintaining stainless steel, which is incidentally also suitable for aluminium, copper and bronze.
Inoxan® stainless steel cleaner is specially formulated for cleaning and maintenance of stainless steel, aluminium, copper, brass and bronze, and removes dust, fingerprints, oil and light scale deposits. Protects against rapid soiling by leaving a dry and shiny protective film. Inoxan® can also be used for glass and plastic surfaces.
_ Use Inoxan® once a quarter, or more frequently in case of intensive use, and follow the instructions carefully.
_ Always try maintenance products (general) on an inconspicuous area first.

Keep all care products out of reach of children.

Recommendations are carefully compiled in consultation with suppliers, but no guarantee that every problem can be solved.
Some problems you cannot or do not want to handle yourself. A service department specialised in the relevant equipment can take a lot of work off your hands.

Or if you can make do with some ‘livelier’ furniture.
