OUR STORY<\/h2>

For over fifty years, we have offered exclusive furniture and refined interiors, based in Chaam, near Breda, Tilburg and Hoogstraten.<\/h2><\/div>

What began as a family business has grown into a leading destination for lovers of stylish and characterful living. Our showroom is located in an inspiring setting amidst the Brabant landscape. The route to get there, surrounded by woodlands and tranquility, is for many the start of a special interior experience.

Our name originates from the old tannery that was once located in this building. Since then, the company has developed into a versatile home furnishing world of over four thousand square metres. Under the leadership of Ruud, inspired by his father\u2019s antique trade, a collection has been created where authenticity, quality, and international influences come together. By constantly travelling the world, he continues to enrich our collection with unique finds and contemporary inspiration.

With a dedicated team of family members and experienced employees, we offer personal advice and tailored solutions, adapted to each customer's wishes. The third generation has now joined, seamlessly blending tradition with innovation. We inspire you with premium furniture made from beautifully aged and\/or treated wood, combined with luxury designer furniture, stunning lighting, and stylish home accessories. It is particularly the unique furniture made from beautiful, old, and well-worn natural materials, and bohemian home accessories that set the tone. HOW IT BEGINED<\/h4>

Hans and Willy, Ruud's parents, were antique lovers. They embarked on a wonderful journey that began with the purchase of a van, travelling to England to buy antiques, and registering with the Chamber of Commerce on 14 February 1975.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The van and garage box soon became too small. Looking for a shop, they ended up at Baarleseweg 35, the old tannery in Chaam that belonged to Heintje Meeuwisen at the time, which they were allowed to rent.\n<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

The sand floors and tanning pits were still in the property at the time. A few years later, they were allowed to buy the tannery and a piece of land was bought and built on each time over the years.\n<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

During the week, a lot of driving was done in the lorry to neatly deliver the goods, which had often been sold at the weekend, to people's homes.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Nineties<\/h4>

At 19, Ruud joined his parents' business, inspired by the versatility of his father's antiques profession and the business built up with his mother. Ever since he was 12, he knew he wanted to become an antiques dealer like his father.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Noughties<\/h4>

\u2019t Looiershuis is a family business. Over time, Ruud\u2019s parents gave him the freedom to steer the shop in the direction he thought best. He officially took over the business around 2005. Together with his partner Mireille and a number of enthusiastic staff members, he continues to run the business.<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>

Hans and Willy remain active in the business until at least the 20s. Ruud is always accompanied by Hans on purchasing trips, and this time Willy will also join them.\n<\/p><\/div><\/div><\/div>
